I can’t d deceive how much I love this book. It is thrilling, sensuous, different and daring. Just as beautiful this time around as the first time I read it 18 years ago...only this time it all made sense in a beautifully adult way. All the alluring images, the subtext and the sweet sexy secrets of it were glaring at me now as I listened. The performance was as mesmerising as the descriptions of the antics of the undead.
I thoroughly recommend this book if you are looking for a story to become totally immersed in. You will not be disappointed!!

This is one of those rare occasions when I can genuinely say I enjoyed the film more. The funny thing is that actually the film is very true to the book but without the beautiful visuals the film provides this story just isn’t as exciting as you’d hope. Usually I’d rely on the author to outdo the need for visuals with description of the setting of the story in the text but in the case of this book it all seemed as dull as grey clouds over a flat sea.

At the heart of Joseph Heller's best-selling novel, first published in 1961, is a satirical indictment of military madness and stupidity, and the desire of the ordinary man to survive it.

I read this book when I was a teenager and forgot how fantastic it is. I definitely understood it better as an adult and some of the subtext was a lot more meaningful in our current world than it was in the 90’s. The narrator is great and you can easily distinguish the different characters through his use of voices. I recommend this one strongly!!

The Greek myths are amongst the greatest stories ever told, passed down through millennia and inspiring writers and artists as varied as Shakespeare, Michelangelo, James Joyce and Walt Disney. They are embedded deeply in the traditions, tales and cultural DNA of the West. You'll fall in love with Zeus, marvel at the birth of Athena, wince at Cronus and Gaia's revenge on Ouranos, weep with King Midas and hunt with the beautiful and ferocious Artemis.

Absolutely in love with this. I was captivated from the get go. Stephen Fry has such a wonderful voice and way of telling stories, it's hard not to be sucked in. I highly recommend this audio book! :)
