Mei-Li Hastings is in trouble. She’s dream sharing with a Kindred warrior. Normally that’s a regular part of being claimed by one of the tall, handsome aliens who came to Earth looking for brides. But in Mei-Li’s case, nothing is normal. The dreams she’s having show a huge, frightening male with a red laser for an eye and a metal arm. The man who’s coming to claim her is a Dark Kindred - one of the emotionless denizens of Zeaga four where love is unknown and feelings are outlawed.

I have read a couple of books by this author but this will be my last. The damsel in distress, weak feeble women who needs to be protected by the strong kindred warrior story line is getting so old. What happened to an independent, witty woman who can look after herself? I'm so bored and over it. Also absolutely detest the internal dialogue which the narrator annoyingly whispers.... arghhh

My name is Ruby Morningstar. I run a tattoo parlor in Portland with my best friend, have a pet raccoon, a crazy ex who stalks me, not to mention this one little thing...I'm a demon. Half-succubus, to be exact. For the last 23 years of my life, that's the story I believed, but on the day a handsome stranger bails me out of jail my world is turned upside down, and suddenly I don't know who I am anymore. Because the Four Horsemen aren't the bringers of the apocalypse. I am.

Positives: Siren angle was unique, I have read a lot of fantasy and I liked the angel. Negatives: Cally was likable but the dumbest Private Investigator I have ever across in a book. Pretty and brave yes. Smart, powerful, female hero.. er no. Temper on the other had should have lead this book, if it was not her this book would have been a miss for me. Also who the hell would call the 'King of the Night'? Des????? Really?

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job? It turns out this place isn't a bar. It's a guild.

This book had great potential however I couldn't help but wish the lead character had some powers... I know this is what the author was going for... a human surviving in a non human environment but frankly it was boring. The story around how she ended up getting a job in the guild was also weak. Much better stories out there.

In a realm where one’s magical power determines one’s worth, Lady Everleigh’s lack of obvious ability relegates her to the shadows of the royal court of Bellona, a kingdom steeped in gladiator tradition. Seventeenth in line for the throne, Evie is nothing more than a ceremonial fixture, overlooked and mostly forgotten. But dark forces are at work inside the palace. When her cousin Vasilia, the crown princess, assassinates her mother the queen and takes the throne by force, Evie is also attacked, along with the rest of the royal family.

It has been three years since the Destroyer sundered our world. The land is longer whole, but broken into pieces, most technology gone, and the continents shattered into an unrecognizable place. New monsters have risen from the depths, adding danger on top of danger. Through it all, the humans fight to survive as they compete not only with the supernaturals for food and resources, but their own kind as well. And me? The caravans of humans I pass - they look to me to save them. Only I am not the witch I once was.

It was supposed to be a nice, quiet, simple dinner with friends - but nothing is ever nice, quiet, or simple when you’re Gin Blanco, the Spider, notorious assassin and current queen of the Ashland underworld. This time around, someone seems to be targeting Stuart Mosley, the president of First Trust bank. Lots of people have grudges against Mosley, but the more I investigate, the more Mosley’s problems seem to be connected to some of my own, especially when it comes to the Circle, the evil, shadowy group that is secretly responsible for much of the crime and corruption in Ashland.
