The sequel to the bestselling A Street Cat Named Bob continues the remarkable adventures of James and Bob showing - through new stories - how Bob's extraordinary street wisdom has shown James the meaning of friendship, loyalty, trust - and happiness. "Since Bob had appeared, I'd made huge strides in my life. For more than a decade I'd been a homeless drug addict. I'd been lost to the world and forgotten what was important in life. Now I'd got myself back on my two feet, but as I put the past behind me, I was still stepping unsteadily into the future."

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend it to a friend if any of my friends listened to audiobooks - no-one has told me that they do, yet.

What did you like best about this story?

The problems that James has to tackle, just to survive from one day to the next. The narrator captures this perfectly and shows how difficult it can be to overcome prejudice and ignorance.

Which character – as performed by Kristopher Milnes – was your favourite?

The book doesn't really have characters, since it's a true-life story. Being a cat, Bob doesn't say much. There is some meowing and this was performed well.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, but that's because I usually listen when I am about to go to sleep, so listening to a long book would disrupt my sleep pattern. If I'm addicted to a book - as I have been, with other titles - I listen a lot, but never continuously.

Any additional comments?

The narrator's performance is very good; you can tell that he's putting himself into the characters.

Jane stumbles on the rental opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to live in a beautiful ultraminimalist house designed by an enigmatic architect, on condition she abides by a long list of exacting rules. After moving in she discovers that a previous tenant, Emma, met a mysterious death there - and starts to wonder if her own story will be a rerun of the girl before. As twist after twist catches the listener off guard, Emma's past and Jane's present become inexorably entwined in this tense portrayal of psychological obsession.

I found the characters in this book briefly interesting, but soon became bored with the world of the affluent middle-class and the intricacies of their lives. Had I felt a shred of empathy with any of them, I may have liked it. I listened to the end - just to see whether any of the minor characters turned the tables - but none did.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.
