Whilst Brett Garratt was a stoic hero and Mowbray a ever present trier, this was not Newts best offering.
Perhaps the narrators style didn’t help sounding more like a train station announcer than an interested story teller.

Despite his success in this book, the story did lack a little consistency and imagination. Swinging between super hero and painful victim.
The thriller based on an over age PI is a haphazard wander through the US north west and the the local villans without a coherent storyline.
Not much of George and his band of drop outs was a disappointment too.
Still the storyline did move forward fast enough and the violence was enough to satisfy the blood thirsty reader.

Some tedious and extended passages of repetitious chases of the goodies by the baddies spoil this thriller. DCS Boult a good part but where was Tina Boyd??

Well done Simon a good follow up to “Siege” fast moving suspense and enough violence for even the most ardent fan. Always good to have a happy ending.

My heroine DCI Tina Boyd only has a small part in this drama, but oh my! She is stunning.
A storyline full of suspense and attention gripping detail, with a happy ending for the Mancunian hero with his grudge settled and the villains defeated.

Not the usual Reacher, but interesting in the twists and turns of a sleuth after the owner of a piece of jewellry and the consequences of the search activities.

Tina is my kind of girl. Capable, fearless and clever too.
So as the main character in this thriller she holds your attention through the twists and turns and gets her man at the end. Mixed feelings about the story teller and his seudo cockney accent tho.
