The story of Sophie, found floating in a cello case after a ship sank, was endearing and I lived the relationship with Charles, who decided to look after her. I found it a little slow at the start but really enjoyed it after Sophie and Charles got to Paris. Some of Sophies lines were great and the innovative way Katherine Rundell uses description is a joy.
