Bob Roth is one of the world's most sought-after teachers of transcendental meditation - a highly effective form of meditation that goes beyond mindfulness to produce a deeper and long-lasting sense of peace. Every day we face a growing epidemic of stress. People of every race, age and income all make the same confession: 'I am so stressed'. There is a simple practice that dramatically changes how we respond to life's stresses: the Transcendental Meditation technique.

What did you like most about Strength in Stillness?

The book discusses the use of meditation in today's frenetic world to relieve the effects of stress. Its main focus is on TM, Transcendental Meditation. However, it does not teach the practice, which needs to be learnt from a teacher.

What other book might you compare Strength in Stillness to, and why?

There are numerous other books on meditation. This is succinct and is without philosophy.

Which character – as performed by Bob Roth – was your favourite?

This is not a fictional book.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The testimonies of folk who have benefitted from the technique.

In the middle of a hard-won morning nap in the basement of police headquarters, Carl Mørck, head of Department Q, receives a call from a colleague working on the Danish island of Bornholm. Carl is dismissive at first, but then he receives some shocking news. Carl then has no choice but to lead Department Q into the tragic cold case of a vivacious 17-year-old girl who vanished from school, only to be found dead hanging high up in a tree.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Revert back to the previous narrator

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Hanging Girl?

LIke others, I gave up due to the narration.

How could the performance have been better?

By having Stephen Pacey , the previous narrator. ( There is a theme here!)

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment.....yes ...by the narration

Any additional comments?

Bring back Stephen Pacey. I will not buy all future books with this narrator.
