In the church today, we have everything buttoned up perfectly. The music is flawless, the sermon well-prepared and smoothly delivered, and the grounds meticulously kept. People come on time and go home on time. But a fundamental element is missing. The business of church has undermined the individual's need to truly live for Christ, so much so, that only a limited few are seeing their life impact the world.

If ever you have started from the path of the life in Christ, DL Moody's books will set you right back on course again. This book has examples of great men and women who have stayed the course of Christendom and are remembered today. We are all to shine our light so that others can be guided to live in Christ. You too, can be a light in this dark world.

If ye have faith and doubt not...all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive. Why are many Christians often defeated? Because they pray so little. Why do most Christians see so few brought out of darkness to light by their ministry? Because they pray so little. Why are our churches simply not on fire for God? Because there is so little real prayer. We may be assured of this: The secret of all failure is our failure in secret prayer. The Lord Jesus is as powerful today as ever before.
