Good mix of characters and definitely a story with many twists and turns. Quite heartbreaking at times and ultimately shows that love can cause people to behave insanely. Highly recommend.
Narration excellent and easy voice to listen to.

Having read other reviews which didn't favour the narrator (I haven't listened to previous books by same author) I had no issue with the narration and found it an easy listen.
The story was long! But it kept my interest and the plot made you think differing conclusions as you went along. I think this would make a good film!! The ending was quite sudden after the lengthy investigation so you really are kept in the dark until the last couple of chapters. A worthy purchase I would def recommend.

Catherine has been enjoying the single life for long enough to know a good catch when she sees one. Gorgeous, charismatic, spontaneous – Lee seems almost too perfect to be true. And her friends clearly agree, as each in turn falls under his spell. But there is a darker side to Lee. His erratic, controlling and sometimes frightening behaviour means that Catherine is increasingly isolated. Driven into the darkest corner of her world, and trusting no one, she plans a meticulous escape.

This was a powerful story about domestic abuse, encapsulating living with it and life after. The author relayed the emotion of the victim and how she coped. I liked the style of the story flipping from life during the abusive relationship to present day. It expressed well the impact of fear and violence and also learning to overcome that fear.
All the characters were realistic and it wasn't in any way flowered up, quite the opposite with detailed description of incidents. The realism is graphic.
If you like a true to life story this is for you. Not for anyone who likes a mills + boon!! You are left in no doubt regarding how obsessive behaviour leaves another feeling. Thought provoking in many parts.
Very well narrated and I highly recommend this book.

Penguin presents the unabridged, downloadable audiobook edition of After You by the Jojo Moyes, the stunning sequel to the worldwide phenomenon Me Before You. Jojo Moyes says: "I hadn't planned to write a sequel to Me Before You. But working on the movie script and reading the sheer volume of tweets and emails every day asking what Lou did with her life meant that the characters never left me."

I wondered how the follow up to Before You would be and have to say I wasn't disappointed! Nicely surprised that it was so well done ...maybe a tad dramatic but on the whole fairly true to life and I guess the dramatic parts are sometimes (sadly) reality of life! Enjoyed reading both books so much I've just purchased another by JoJo Moyes!!
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who has read Before You ..

An ugly duckling as a child, Jodie Bentley had two dreams in life - to be beautiful and rich. She's achieved the first, with a little help from a plastic surgeon, and now she's working hard on the second. Her philosophy on money is simple: you can either earn it or marry it. Marrying is easy; it's getting rid of the husband afterwards that's harder. That takes real skill. But hey, practice makes perfect....

I persevered with this to the end as I did want to find out what happened to the missing girl. I found the story quite childish and the portrayal of teenage detective would have appealed to me 35 years ago!! Perhaps more serious than the Famous Five which I did enjoy in my teenage years.
I didn't find the story very gripping and the whole courtroom parts were rather boring...the animal court could have been omitted as I didn't see its relevance to the overall story.
Hoping my next choices will be more to my taste.
It was well narrated with good expression.
