Would you try another book written by Peter King or narrated by David Baker?

Probably no more books by Peter King but David Baker is fine as an American narrator.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Didn't get that far. I returned it after a few hours.

Did The Gourmet Detective inspire you to do anything?

Write this review and return the audio book.

Any additional comments?

The detective's attitude towards women (all girls to him) really grated with me after a couple of hours. Women were either attractive girls on his mental 'list' or might be attractive if they had a haircut and applied a bit of makeup! I felt this attitude was unnecessary and spoilt what would have been a good listen.

Here in one recording is every Sherlock Holmes story ever written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Originally appearing in serial form, these famous stories are here presented in the order in which they were first published beginning in 1887. Included in this definitive, award-winning collection are four novels and 56 short stories, a total of 60 titles. The 56 short stories are aggregated into five named collections, just as they were originally published in book form.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

A great addition to anyone's audio collection. Compulsory listening for anyone with even a passing interest in crime fiction.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

At over 70 hours I think it would take too much coffee to get through it all in one go!

Any additional comments?

This has got to be the best value for money credit I've ever used on Audible! Grab this book before they change their minds and make it a multi-credit purchase.

and the purchasing of all three books in quick succession.
I was browsing round for something new to listen to and I was intrigued by the glowing reviews.
One download and 30 minutes later I was hooked. Two weeks later I'm downloading book three.

An excellent story, well written and superbly narrated. I cannot fault Steven Pacey in his work. A fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.
