Bk 1: murder and chocolate fudge cake
These stories are not particularly challenging and there are plenty of things that you could take issue with, questioning murder suspects in car parks for instance, but that being said if you like cosy mysteries then you’ll enjoy this one.

Bk 2: murder and layer cake
I’m starting to think David should give up his day job as a seasoned detective seeing as his wife always seems to do a better job than him lol.
Enjoyable enough and not too taxing.

Bk 3: murder and chocolate cake
This one has been my favourite so far. Instead of the exact same plot of the others this ones has the husband and wife team looking for escaped convicts instead of investigating a recent murder.

Bk 4: murder and citrus cream cake
One thing I’m learning from this series is to never move to Treasure Cove and definitely don’t make friends with Sabrina Carlson way too many of its residents and her friends get murdered!

Bk 5: murder and cherry cake
This was enjoyable because it was slightly different. The husband and wife team were starting with a kidnapping rather than murder!

Bk 6: murder and vanilla cake
A tried and tested plot, Sabrina and David need to track down another killer in their small town. I’m surprised there’s anyone left in treasure cove!
It’s an enjoyable enough cozy mystery.

I have to say I’m so glad I came across this series, I was looking for something different and this certainly fit the bill with its it’s fun and sarcastic humour.
Bk 1: The Merging
This is a fantastic unit of the paranormal police department. Ian Dex is great character and I love the sarcastic humour from him and his team throughout the story even facing a deadly mage and his demons doesn’t dampen the humour.
I love that it’s the author narrating, he has a fantastic delivery and we get to experience the characters as the author intended them to be.

Bk 2: Grave Creatures
When Ian Dex gets a call about Zombies he thinks his team is playing at prank but nope, that’s not the case. Cue all the graveyard humour from the sarcastic leader of the PPD. My favourite being ‘When it come to cemetery’s I guess people were just dying to get in there’ 😂 I love the nick names Ian Dex gives the bad guys, in this book it’s ‘s#it face Fred’ the necromancer.

Bk 3: Blood Bane Tower
Ian Dex and his team need to defeat a dragon queen but before that he’ll need to navigate the 9 circles of hell leading to some hilarious exploits.
This really makes for an awesome audiobook especially with the author narrating.

Bk 4: London Growl
Ian Dex finds himself in London facing his most challenging nemesis so far, The humour never stops though and having sidekicks of a wannabe Sean Connery as 007 and a wannabe Sherlock Holmes makes for an interesting annoyance to Dex.

Bk 5: swarm of fire
An Uber Pixie is the one cause havoc here, the visual is hilarious and the final battle to this story was not what I expected and I have to admit had me chuckling.
I’m loving this series.

Bk 6: curse of fangs
An Uber vampire is causing havoc but on top of that Ian Dex has some personal changes to get to grips with! But with all this weird stuff going on who can he trust. These are great stories but the humour and sarcasm really adds to the enjoyment.

Bk 7: Clash of flames
There’s some revelations in this book that leaves Ian Dex with some tough choices! Along with the drama the humour and sarcasm continues.
The Kevin and the catapult bit had me spitting coffee, it tickled my funny bone, and watch out for how Ian tries to unlock a rune 😂 I need more of this author’s wit and delivery. I’ll certainly be looking for my next read by him.

Bonus story: The Bleeding
This story gives us a glimpse of Ian Dex as a trainee in the nether world PPD before he moves topside. a great short story showing up what Dex can do.

Bonus story: The Chief
Ian Dex is 2 years in to his role in the PPD and this story explains the event which led to him becoming chief

Bonus story: Blind Date
Omg, the author/narrator lost it and started laughing at a hilarious point in the story before recovering his composure and continued. I’m glad they left that in.
Ian Dex has a run in with ‘Kidnap Jack’ this leads to some funny interactions between the two. I’m loving Ian Dex and his sarcasm.

This is an enjoyable listen, I liked the relationship between the two main characters and I liked this narrator. The only issue was that some lines in the story were repeated and one line was repeated 3 times!

A quick listen of mixed short stories. They are all good but the first one about cursed artefacts was my favourite.

This is a good story that also carries an important message about online safety.
Although I’m not keen on this narrators drawl or delivery the story is still Well worth listening to.

Well heck this is one messed up individual, I am talking about the character and not the writer, although if I were to meet this author I’d probably be keeping one eye on her now lol.
This is a very well written book, I could feel the anxieties, the paranoia, the mistrust, the fracturing relationships and how easily all these things can be caused with some manipulation!
I don’t want to give anything away so I’m not going to say too much about this psychological thriller except read it, or listen to it as the narrator does a great job.

As with all these cozy mysteries there’s a lot of meandering from the characters and a basic storyline including making the detective look a bit silly, even if it is your husband! But enjoyable enough to listen to whilst you’re doing chores.

This is clever, a murder mystery where one of the characters, Beth, is taking a course on writing a book, she chooses the murder mystery genre so we get to listen/read her mystery story whilst she learns the details to look for simultaneously noticing odd details about local deaths! even more so once she meets Greg. I love Greg, his OCD makes him an incredibly interesting character.
Throughout the story my mind jumped between the several characters that I thought the killer could be but I never truly knew for sure who it was until they had been revealed.
This Is a murder mystery with a difference and I loved every second of it.

This story is a mix of supernatural, mystery and suspense and does it deliver! It was well written and well narrated, the investigation is clear and concise keeping you invested on the outcome.
This is the first book I’ve read/listened to by this author and although I see that this is book 2 in this series I didn’t feel as though I was missing any information although I will now be looking forward to reading book 1.
Very enjoyable story and I’ll certainly be looking for more by this author.

Wow, well this was a riveting read/listen. Mor is in the thick of it again. A centuries old curse threatens to take everyone she lives if they can’t find a way to break it!
Unfortunately at times there an echo to the narration but even with that I couldn’t put this story down. I can’t wait to grab the next book.
