As Simon (below) said. Lee Child and Jeff Harding totally nailed it. Bring on the next book. Loved it.

Exceptional narration brought this story vividly to life. So much richer than reading it on paper. I totally loved it and am delighted to see there is a follow up book to be issued shortly.

Oh I do wish there were more ...

I just plain adore Jennifer Crusie's books. Sadly there are so few (and some are a little better than others).
Lovely lovely characters, lives you wish you could have, happy endings, nicely plotted - just wonderful.
Always my go to books if I'm feeling a bit doggy-downtail. Always make me worry a bit when the end is coming and I'll have to step out of that world.
Go for it if you are feeling a bit blue, you will feel better at the end. Any of her books here on Audible are a treat. Apart from the dogs/goddesses one, you can give that a miss maybe.
Just relax in a bubbly bath with mug of cocoa or glass of something fizzy and cold and melt into the book like chocolate on a warm day.

My advice is to stick with it! Once the story has found it's feet, probably about 25% in, it takes off.
Some really interesting ideas about the far future. I kind of hope that the human race is able to mix with races galaxy-wide without trying to kill them all. But lessons from our own small planet make me a bit dubious.
Fun adventure, hopefully more to come from Mr Hunt.

A heartwarming tale of an ordinary, but extraordinary, woman facing first contact with an extra-terrestrial being.
I only hope that I would face such a situation with such grace and fortitude. Also that if I were to host an Alien he would likewise be a charming house guest.
Exceptional narration.

Just a bit too familiar for me. I guess I listen to too many books of this genre, and as such I felt like I'd read it all before.
You may get more from it than I did. Perhaps I just wasn't in the right frame of mind, but in the end I didn't care what happened to any if the characters.
Workman like narration didn't really add enough to get me excited.

An interesting and imaginative story set somewhere in the multiverse where magic and science happily coexist.
Sympathetic characters with a good supporting cast.
Well rounded tale, with a beginning, middle and end, with a door left ajar for future developments.

Well written characters, nicely layered plot, satisfying goodies, baddies and a few in-betweenies and immersive character acting.

I hope there is more to come.

Really good story, proper plot that concludes satisfactorily and interesting characters.

Ok, so the cover art isn't the best ever and the narration, whilst great for the main character is a little smudgy for the others, but that doesn't detract.

Couldn't find out much about this author. Other people seem to believe this to be a pseudonym for a previously successful author. If that is the case it does explain the competence of the book.

The plot seems to providing the chance for sequels. If so I'm definitely in.

For your info, no gratuitous swearing, no sexual content, female characters are people and not fantasized bimbettes and whilst there is some violence it wasn't dwelled on or gloried in.

Great story - funny, brave and hopeless heroes. Fantastic narration from Phil Thron.
I hope there is more of this to come.
