This could have been a really good book as the story line is strong, but way to much boring, unnecessary detail, which was ashame.

No suspense, no huge dramas just a book about life

Once l'd gotten used to who was who and the family they belonged to, I really started to enjoy this book. It wasn't one that I couldn't put down, it was just a book about life, and how it can all change in the blink of an eye, which was actually quite refreshing. Who needs drama!

There was no focus. just went on and on.

I really struggled to finish this book. it just bumbled along going nowhere then it ended. there were no highlights, cliffhangers or any bits where I couldn't wait to see what happens next.

After the first few minutes I started worrying about this book coming to an end.

Each character was so dimensional I felt that I actually knew them personally.

I felt everything they went through and was able to understand that the everyday struggles that Starr experienced were real and experienced by so many on a day to day basis.

I would certainly recommend this book, not least to get an insight into how the other half live.

This book started of slowly, but got better.

Once it got going, the story was very good, but the ending was quite abrupt. It would have got four stars but I felt that there was a part of the story where there was no conclusion and I was left hanging.

I almost returned this book but glad I didn't

Not a very nice book but a good, intriguing storyline. I wanted to speed the narrator up on more than a couple of occasions.

This is not something I would normally choose but I was pushed for time and it was a 16 hr read with good reviews, so... The story could fit into romance, espionage and thriller categories whilst not wholly belonging to anyone.

However, it kept me totally engaged and loving the characters.

There are plenty of good twists, and at one stage I thought it was over then realised there was another 4 hours of listening to go!

I would recommend this book as a good, entertaining easy listen.

I am not necessarily a fan of romance novels, but I loved this book. I couldn't stop listening and now I need the sequel, a film and a mini series.

it could have been great but it really wasn't

I really struggled to get through this book. There was no excitement. Just a never ending story that went nowhere
