Exclusive to Audio! Somewhere amongst the shadowy stacks and the many basements of the British library, something is very much amiss - and we're not talking late returns here. Is it a ghost, or something much worse? PC Peter Grant really isn't looking forward to finding out....

I liked the finishing school series, I loved the Parasol Protectorate series but this is my favourite. Major Channing Channing Of The Chesterfield Channing's is to be blunt a bit of an ass, in the other books and my favourite part of meeting him was when Alexia whacked him with her parasol! But there was always a sense that there was more to him than just being spoiled and arrogant or even as a wolf he wouldn't have survived for so long. This is a nice love story, with just enough glimpses into the other characters we have come to know and love to keep the die hard fans content a brilliant addition to the parasolverse!

Lady Preshea Villentia has four dead husbands and a nasty reputation. What society doesn't know is that all her husbands were marked for death by Preshea's employer. And Preshea has one final assignment. It was supposed to be easy, a house party with minimal bloodshed. Preshea hadn't anticipated Captain Gavin Ruthven - massive, Scottish, quietly irresistible, and...working for the enemy. In a battle of wits, Preshea may risk her own heart - a terrifying prospect, as she never knew she had one.

This series looks like another one I am really going to enjoy. I have previously read the Finishing School series and the Parasol Protectorate series, this is much shorter but the characters are still likeable and easy to be interested in.

I can't remember the last time that I gave any books a 5 star rating let alone two from one series. I don't know what else I can say without spoiling it.
