Superb book with all the right ingredients to keep you hooked and shouted at for being antisocial 🤣 He talks of local places and especially Lochcarron & Strathcarron & surrounding areas & for the best part of my life, lived in and grew up in Lochcarron and my Grandad was the Stationmaster from early 70”s until his passing. The Station House and surrounding buildings were kept in the family until recently. He’s done his homework very well. A MUST READ/LISTEN TO book 😎 One very happy listener for the third time!!!!

The second book in an electrifying new thriller series from Sunday Times best-selling author Simon Toyne. Only one boy can see the darkness. Only one man can save him from it. 'Finishing what was begun.' These are the words written in blood beside the body of an elderly tailor who has been tortured and murdered in the ancient town of Cordes. He leaves behind a cryptic message for his granddaughter and her son, Leo - one that puts them in immediate danger.

The Greek myths are amongst the greatest stories ever told, passed down through millennia and inspiring writers and artists as varied as Shakespeare, Michelangelo, James Joyce and Walt Disney. They are embedded deeply in the traditions, tales and cultural DNA of the West. You'll fall in love with Zeus, marvel at the birth of Athena, wince at Cronus and Gaia's revenge on Ouranos, weep with King Midas and hunt with the beautiful and ferocious Artemis.

This book is bar far one of the best reads of this genre I've had the pleasure to lend my ears to or cast my eyes upon.

Stephen Fry is one of the top Three of my favourite authors and this book has shifted him to number Two. An awesome, spellbinding, captivating book that draws you in and has you laugh, cry (in a manner of speaking) and certainly left me in awe and wonder about the Mythology as it is a subject I know and understand very little about. I bought the book because Stephen Fry is the author and nothing more but now, I've a whole new interest to discover and learn about. If Stephen reads these reviews at all, I cannot thank him enough for the wonderful NEW JOURNEY I'm about to embark on.

In short - an awesome MUST READ Book!!!

I'm the Man is the fast-paced, humorous, and revealing memoir from the man who cofounded Anthrax, the band that proved to the masses that brutality and fun didn't have to be mutually exclusive. Through various lineup shifts, label snafus, rock 'n' roll mayhem, and unforeseen circumstances galore, Scott Ian has approached life and music with a smile, viewing the band with deadly seriousness while recognizing the ridiculousness of the entertainment industry.

I’m OLD SCHOOL and my favourite flavour has always been Motõrhead - right from the start. Been on the “piss with the boys etc.” Metallica came along in my circle of friends whilst skateboarding and for me it always has been 2 wheels and so I was the odd sod out ‘cause I was a BMX slave. Moved from Portsmouth in 1984 up to family in West Coast of Scotland for Work.
Anthrax came on the airwaves, my mates were overcome by the energy, the feel etc of the band and I TRIED SHUNNING new music because I’m old school. However, after much harassment from my Skateboard geezers I gave up and afforded half an hour to listen to “Spreading the Disease” and was totally bowled over. They, in my opinion are fresher, sexier and more energetic than two or three certain bands which I’ll not name as this is my personal choice other than to say SLAYER ARE NOT PART OF THAT EQUATION.

At the end of the day, Anthrax, like Motorhead (Lemmy R.I.P - and still owes me a “bar tab bill”) are survivors because the music boasts no bull***t - the music is as honest as the guys themselves. So chuffed Joey back home - that’s not to detract from the fact that Mr Bush is Awesome and should things go belly-up ever again, I’d suspect John would fill. In all, please please read this testament of one of the most iconic bands in “the heavy genre” and even better, do yourself a favour and educate your ears!!!! Thank you very much for the last 35+ years. You’re all awesome. God bless your lad as well 💀🤘🏼

The men of the 77th Infantry Division couldn't fathom why Private Desmond T. Doss would venture into the horrors of World War II without a single weapon to defend himself. "You're nothing but a coward!" they said. But the soft-spoken medic insisted that his mission was to heal, not kill. When Desmond knelt by his bunk to pray, his fellow soldiers hurled boots and insults at him. Even his commander wanted to throw him out of the army. But when his unit arrived on the battlefield, the intrepid medic quickly proved he was no coward.
