Perfectly silly - and great fun

This is escapist fun with the lot - humour, romance and a pretty far fetched plot with enough twists and turns to keep you listening. The central female character Poppy is in the process of organising her wedding when a chance find brings the tall, dark and handsome Sam into her life. What follows is a comedy of relationships, misunderstandings, in-laws and some corporate hijinx for good measure. It is nicely performed by the narrator who has the perfect voice and tone for all the characters. Is is ground breaking literature? Of course not - but why would we want it to be? Perhaps it is best summed up in three letters - LOL.

Classic Nora Roberts

I have to admit that I am a Nora Roberts fan so I always enjoy her books. This is one of the best so far and the plot has some unexpected twists and turns. It does take longer than usual to set up the background for the heroine but it all makes sense and adds some depth to the story. Very good narration makes the setting and the story come alive. I would recommend this to existing fans and it would also make a great introduction to Nora Roberts' contemporary romance style.

Absolutely Fabulous!

This was my first Sophie Kinsella and I enjoyed every minute of it. I found the legal story line very entertaining and well done. Being a former lawyer and now domestic goddess myself I can say that the author's version of that world is spot on. However all you need to enjoy this book is a sense of humour and a liking for a bit of romance. Gardening will never seem the same - you will have to listen to find out what I mean. I will definitely listen to more from this author.

My only disappointment with this book was that the author has not written any others at this point in time. Much has been said about Helen's langauge in the other reviews - it didn't bother me and I found it quite realistic. If you really don't like modern parlance I recommend Jane Austen. I just wish I had delivered Helen's parting words when I recently left a job. Funny from beginning to end and certainly never boring. I hope to hear more from this author.

Bond at his best

Overall
5 out of 5 stars

This was my first Audible experience and it has set a very high standard for others to follow. I loved the book itself which has all the action and intrigue that you expect from Bond as well as that little bit of romance. I also think Jeremy Northam should be made to record every audio book in existence as, not only does he have a gorgeous voice, his characterisations were all distinct and beautifully performed. I like to listen to books while I walk my dog. He was wondering why he was going for three walks a day! Brilliant!
