Ridiculous characters and story. One of the worst books I’ve listened to.Should have stopped listening to it but was hoping for some redemption which never came.

Engrossing story.

This book, the story of below stairs in an Austinesque household, is sublime. Beautifully read, highlighting the descriptions and details Jo Baker has, painstakingly, put into this work. A labour of love. I was sad for it to end, it has been my companion for so long!

A cracking yarn

The book was well read and began well going back and forth from past to present. However in the middle the plot became very silly with too many unlikely incidents. It could have been riveting but became contrived & unbelievable.
