whilst the storyline is quite entertaining the whole thing is far fetched and tacky.
I didn't empathise with any of the characters.
by far the worst thing about the book is the cringeworthy narration that makes listening to the end a fete in toleration. the women all come across as simpering whilst the men are either macho or posh with no inbetween.

i loved Elizabeth is missing and gave it 5 stars, so i was so excited when i saw the author had another book coming out. what on earth happened? i would never have thought the two books were even penned by the same author. the characters are all whiny and unlikeable and the story just limped along with unnecessary detail and not much happening at all. complete disappointment, ten hours of my life i will never get back and the return of my credit requested.

This was a long listen that was beautifully performed, leaving me laughing out loud in places. Quite dark in places but tinged with humour that lightened the otherwise stark account of 1940s Ireland and the reality of a brutal, outdated Catholicism.

this is my second book by this author, the first, Dear Amy, I didn't enjoy at all and ended up sending back.
This one was better although pretty average. I guessed most of the twists before they happened but it was entertaining enough.

I was drawn in by the reviews but left baffled by them. I found it drawn out and monotonous and ended up skipping to the end to find out the conclusion. requesting my credit back!

I have listened to the entire series of these books. some have been highly entertaining, some have been okay. This one however bored me to tears so much so that I only made it halfway before getting my credit returned. They have all been tacky and a bit masculine but this one just drudged along between cliches. the end of the line for me with this series.

the reviews were great but I'm not sure why. the narration was irritating and the characters one dimensional. distinctly average.

This was relatively easy to listen to but I was surprised it got such rave reviews. my biggest annoyance was the repeated use of the word
'for which she seemed to use a ridiculous amount of times , did no one edit the book first? overall it was okay.

Parts of this book were pretty intense and shocking which kept me interested.
however in places it was really flawed. The police work was shockingly bad, if your child ever went missing trust me you wouldn't want them on the case!
overall it was ok and I'd give the author a further try.
