I'm confused by how this is discribed as "sinister". Dull, yes. Interesting, not really. The description of the folk tale behind the first story, for instance, sounded a lot more interesting and dark than the reimagined version. Really failed to deliver for me.

I bought this because I thought it included a series 5 as written in the description, as I already own series 1-4. however, if you look at the actual book cover it's Series 1 to 4 not 1-5

What made the experience of listening to The Woodcutter the most enjoyable?

Although the story, and plot were great, and I know I would have enjoyed reading the print, the narrator made it into so much more. Thoroughly enjoyed the narrators pace, delivery and accents.

What other book might you compare The Woodcutter to, and why?

The only book I have enjoyed this much was Thomas H Cooks "The interrogation". This was read by the equally brilliant George Guidall, and had right tapestry of a plot that kept you guessing till the end.

Which character – as performed by Jonathan Keeble – was your favourite?

The main character, Wolf.

What disappointed you about Welcome to Our Village, Please Invade Carefully: Series 1?

Stilted performances, lack of flow, and generally un-funny. Very disappointing. I would have returned it, but Audible won't let me as I live in Ireland. Classic.

What will your next listen be?

Anything else

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Dissapointment

Why can't I return this book without having to ring the UK?

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I love this, very Brothers Grimm-like, darkly humorous book. Everything about the opening character and scene, set in a museum to the act of suicide, sets you up for a quirky little story. Very well matched by Kris Dyer's narration.

What made the experience of listening to Dimension of Miracles the most enjoyable?

I love quirky sci fi!

What did you like best about this story?

The humour and the narration

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

It made me laugh

Any additional comments?

Can't believe Douglas Adams was only introduced to this story years after he wrote the Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy. If you like the HHGTTG series (a trilogy of 5 books) you'll love this too.
