I love Bill Bryson's books - but he should have got a professional actor/reader to narrate this. Bill's soft monotone keeps sending me to sleep. Given it three goes of the first two chapters, but just can't listen anymore. I'm going to have to return this audio and maybe get a print copy.

Eagerly waited for this but a bit disappoining and even tedious in places, with ordinary day to day trivia taking precedence over any storyline. Unlike other reviewers I don't think this is the end, but could be an interim book setting the scene and characters for new stories - maybe Simon's nephew in forensics?

What about Clare Wille’s performance did you like?
Well read with distinct character voicings. It kept me engaged.

Any additional comments?
I can't wait for the next Maggie Neville installment - she must be due for promotion soon! Great story and believable characters.

What made the experience of listening to Sins of the Fathers the most enjoyable?
I always enjoy these books, set in and around the West End of London where I used to work for Royal mail - I even delivered mail on occasions to Wintergarden House!

What does Joe Jameson bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?
Very well read by Joe Jameson - really puts life into the character's voices

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Can't wait for the next installation of this lively series.
