Spellbinding

Fascinating and cleverly woven story that held me captive to the very end. George Guidall narrates beautifully and Jodi's writing is tip top in pace and atmosphere. I loved it!

This was nowhere near as good as Labrinyth, either in plot or narration and found the music distracting and added nothing to the plot or storyline.

A Prisoner of Birth

A good plot, as are all Archer's books, but spoiled by the poor quality of his writing. The dull, monotonous delivery of the narrator did little to drive it along. All in all - disappointing.

Absolutely wonderful. I haven't enjoyed a book so much for a long while. The narrator vividly captures the characters without overdoing the Aussie accents and Jojo has recreated that most difficult of times for many women with flair and skill. She is a great writer. I loved every minute and can see it making a truely magnificant film. 10 out of 10 in my book.

Enjoyable story by excellent writer but overexaggeration of foreign accents used for different characters by Irish narrator spoiled it slightly.

An all time favourite beautifully read by Jenny Agutter. She really brings the characters to life. It was a pity the story came to an end, I was left wanting more.

Atmospheric and topic well researched. Gripped to the very end. A darned good 'read'!

Plot was tedious and needlessly wordy. Clever concept which for me did not work.
