And so the saga continues - makes sense to listen in order as like series 3&4 some stories interlinked and therefore you need to know the background story to follow it on.

This evokes as much colour and atmosphere as Peaky Blinders but set in Edinburgh in earlier days

Really admire both actors and having recently visited Leith - the narration brings the winds alive as to how it would’ve been. Excellent casting. Sgt Mulholland will soften McLevy yet with his ways. Jean Brash will reign in the Justland as always.

Wish this had been televised - but evocative of those period dramas set in the Winter scheduling.

Great cast. Enjoy the narration which knots the dialogue together and sets the scenes of the different scenarios. You can almost taste and smell the environment. Not dissimilar but not as dark as BBC’s Taboo. Same period.

Looking forward to part 2 & 3

I enjoyed the first book and didn’t realise there was a sequel. Stumbled across it, but this was excellent though I personally preferred the narrator on the first book. So for continuity I wish they had stuck with her.

Story full of happiness and sadness and joy. Well written.
