What made the experience of listening to Out Of Bounds the most enjoyable?

Offers a great picture of the Scottish backdrop to the story, without easy stereotyping of the characters.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Thankfully Karen Pirie is a convincing character who has a sharp, critical mind but who also makes mistakes. Val McDermid's picture of this life-like detective is clearly drawn.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I most enjoyed Karen's encounter with her colleague who admits a leak of information to the press has been his fault.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

There was real tension but also humour which relieved the pain and injustice suffered by the victims

The performance couldn't be better. So much variety in the voices it's easy to forget there's one narrator. Trollope weaves together the various plots to great effect.

Briers' performance brings Bertie Wooster to life.
