I first started listening to Kiss in high school (in the UK) circa 1987. I was an avid fan for many years and saw the band 4 times; crazy nights, revenge, Alive worldwide & Psycho Circus.

I found this book a fascinating insight into the history of the band, in a time before the advent of the internet and social media, where the only access to info was magazine articles I was oblivious to any of the things covered here and am very glad of that fact - I wouldn't have wanted to hear or know any of that as a kid.

This is one perspective only, I know, and Paul is viewed as a control freak by many but I can understand a lot of that. I don't know any of the last two albums as have drifted away from Kiss over the last 10+ years but am now tempted to give the new stuff a listen, if only for sentimentality's sake.

Starts off so so, with a slow build and genuine intrigue

Starts off very slowly and I was starting to think I'd bought the wrong book as there was no fantastical elements for quite some time. When they did appear it seemed at first very 'been there, done that' but built to be its own thing. Good characters and story building and really not knowing where it was going. Genuinely interested to read the continuing larger story...

Loved every minute of this tale. Truly riveting. I can see myself returning to this one many times in future. A sequel would be welcome but I'm more than happy for it to be a solitary take. I shall watch the author with interest

Been reading the rivers of London books from the beginning and they never fail to entertain. Just wish this one had gone on a while longer - feels like a mid season episode of a tv show. Loving the series though and Kobna's narration is pitch perfect.
