I have enjoyed the DCI Ryan novels and expected to like this dramatisation but there is far too much gory detail and the suffering of the victims is described at length. Not for me. I have returned it after listening to about a third of it.

Martin Jarvis reads this extremely well, bringing to life each of Dickens' characters, making each clearly distinct from the others. A thoroughly enjoyable listen.

Wodehouse good as ever.

Wodehouse can be relied on to provide good light entertainment and this is no exception.
Not my favourite narrator, rather too speedy, blurring the distinction between characters speaking, and between speech and prose. Jonathan Cecil's expert rendering of the Wodehouse novels set a high standard which others can't quite match.

Full of typical P G Wodehouse humour, this is the best light entertainment. Jonathan Cecil reads this author's works brilliantly, no-one catch match him. A perfect combination.
