Pride and Prejudice is the greatest romance of all time, and in this enjoyable retelling, Amanda Grange allows us to see the events of Jane Austen’s famous novel from Mr Darcy’s point of view. Scenes only hinted at in the original are here recorded in detail and brought to life. Darcy writes of his horror at discovering his sister’s plans to elope with George Wickham....

The haunting story of the mother of the Tudors, Elizabeth of York, wife to Henry VII. Beautiful eldest daughter of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville - the White Queen - the young princess Elizabeth faces a conflict of loyalties between the red rose and the white. Forced into marriage with Henry VII, she must reconcile her slowly growing love for him with her loyalty to the House of York, and choose between her mother's rebellion and her husband's tyranny. Then she has to meet the Pretender, whose claim denies the House of Tudor itself.

if there is something you can clearly see after finishing this book is that it was written with passion. I would have liked a bit more but it was still great.

The year is 1814, and springtime is in full bloom at Pemberley. Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy have married. But now a new romance is in the air, along with high fashion, elegant manners, scandal, deception, and the wonderful hope of a true and lasting love. Shy Georgiana Darcy has been content to remain unmarried, living at Pemberley with her brother and his new bride and convinced that the one man she secretly cares for will never love her in return.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Not unless somebody else records it again. Having said that the story is great.

What did you like best about this story?

The description Georgiana makes of all the characters involved and how she changes throughout the story

What didn’t you like about Mary Sarah’s performance?

Georgiana's voice is ok though she pauses too much making her speech sound unnatural. Colonel Fitzwilliam always sounds as if he is telling others off.

When Elizabeth Bennet first knew Mr. Darcy, she despised him and was sure he felt the same. Angered by his pride and reserve, influenced by the lies of the charming Mr. Wickham, she never troubled herself to believe he was anything other than the worst of men - until, one day, he unexpectedly proposed. Mr. Darcy's passionate avowal of love causes Elizabeth to reevaluate everything she thought she knew about him.

Would you listen to Unequal Affections again? Why?

Read it yes, listen to it no unless read by somebody else.

What other book might you compare Unequal Affections to, and why?

Fidelity and Affection. Loved that book.

Any additional comments?

The reader sounds too harsh. No real sentiment or passion put into the different characters. At times it was even robotical. I nearly quit the book because of her performance.
