The execution of this rework of Jeff Waynes classic was without a doubt brilliant!
Michael Sheen and Taron Egerton were fantastic in their roles, as was the rest of the cast. I started listening to this driving to Birmingham and didn't stop, until the performance was complete. Utterly fantastic!

Better than the movie!

The book was easily as exciting as the movie. To say that it was a cliff hanger all of the way through the book is an understatement. The story has more twists and turns than a crazy Ivan. The story of the film is so different to the book, that they could be separate entities. The only thing that would have improved the book would have been the music!

MC Beaton's done it again.

Hamish Macbeth, true to his form catches the bad guy at the end of the book, but keeps you guessing who the bad guys are until the end of the story.

I don't want to spoil the ending, but several of the loose ends are tied up neat and tidy, leaving a new canvas for the hero at the end of the story.

Another spell binding Adventure with Hamish. I took delivery yesterday and could not stop listening until I finished the book. Is Banished life coming together at last? You be the judge! MC, another winner. David Monteath is to be congratulated on his atmospheric description of the book. Brilliant.

Where does Death of a Policeman rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

An excellent read, with officious policemen, criminals hiding in the shadows and twists and turns in the plot to keep even the most avid fan guessing to the end.....And who will be the love of his life????? The plot continues.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Death of a Policeman?

The final twist of the plot. The ultimate murderer unmasked...

Have you listened to any of David Monteath’s other performances? How does this one compare?

Excellent as with all of his performances.

Any additional comments?

A fantastic plot that kept me guessing all the way through.

But will there be a book to decide Macbeths ultimate romantic entanglement?????
