Whilst I enjoyed the story and the three main characters, the delivery was disappointing. It was monotonous for the most part. Unless it was supposed to be part of the idiolect of the characters, the pronunciation of words such as 'arksed' for 'asked' grated on my ears.,along with several other words. It ruined the narrative for me.

This was a wonderful portrait of how an ordinary woman deals with the extraordinary events in her world. All characters are well drawn and believable. All incidents are plausible and the reader feels emotionally invested in the main protagonist and her antagonists. A joy to listen to the author performing the audio recording enhancing every nuance of phrase. Really enjoyed this.

Interesting subject, but lacked any clarity of consequences of the alleged murder. Sound levels were inconsistent, so that I had to turn it up and down throughout.

This was exceptional writing, paced beautifully. Characters were well drawn and relationships were believable. A few twists in the narrative kept things interesting. Would recommend.

This is a wonderful romp through the adventures of David Attenborough. Captivating narration by the man himself, told with charm and wit.

What made the experience of listening to Together the most enjoyable?

Great expression in the performance of the reader.

What did you like best about this story?

The resolution of the mystery.

Which character – as performed by Gemma Whelan – was your favourite?

Robbie was lovely, positive and practical. How sad was his decline?! But Emily was a wonderful, complex, compassionate character and it was to her that I warmed the most.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Going backwards was the only way to go forward.

Any additional comments?

I did feel that what needed to be said, could have been said at a quicker pace sometimes. When the pace slowed, I felt in danger of losing interest in the meandering details.

An interesting concept and lovely characterisations in an intriguing story. Narrator mostly clear, but dropped to whispers sometimes.
