The era of the LP began in 1967, with Sgt Pepper; The Beatles didn’t just collect together a bunch of songs, they Made an Album. Henceforth, everybody else wanted to Make an Album. The end came only 15 years later, coinciding with the release of Michael Jackson’s Thriller. By then the Walkman had taken music out of the home and into the streets, and the record business had begun trying to reverse engineer the creative process in order to make big money. Nobody would play music or listen to it in quite the same way ever again.

Having fond memories of buying vinyl records as a child and then into adulthood.. I was so thrilled to read and get excited about vinyl.
The fascinating facts David H delivers here are really wonderful nuggets that any nerdy muso will relish!
Listened to it twice - back to back - and bought hard copies for 5 friends as gift - all who were astonished delighted to be reminded of the joy of 12"

Now I'm listening to his other deliveries ..

EXCELLENT stuff -

Fanatical about cricket since he was a boy, Miles Jupp would do anything to see his heroes play. But perhaps deciding to bluff his way into the press corps during England's Test series in India wasn't his best idea. By claiming to be the cricket correspondent for BBC Scotland and getting a job with the (Welsh) Western Mail, Miles lands the press pass that will surely be the ticket to his dreams. Soon, he finds himself in cricket heaven - drinking with David Gower and Beefy, and sharing bar room banter with Nasser Hussain.

Flower is uprooted (ptp) and really disliked by KP. As a young cricketer you can see where the story comes from and it has etched together snippets of what I have seen of the ego being bullied especially with the textgate scandal and what I have seen followin cricket since the ashes 2005

More surreal clowning from one of the greatest comedy teams on radio. Goon but not forgotten! In these digitally remastered episodes, Ned Seagoon, who is bored at the bank where he works, decides to run away - with the bank's money. Also, Neddie follows a trail of cold-batter puddings to North Africa, has his snowplough stolen during the Great English Blizzard, and is approached by Mandarin Grytpype-Thynne and General Kash-Mai-Chek to participate in an audacious financial coup.
