Jackson Brodie has relocated to a quiet seaside village in North Yorkshire, in the occasional company of his recalcitrant teenage son Nathan and ageing Labrador Dido, both at the discretion of his former partner Julia. It’s a picturesque setting, but there’s something darker lurking behind the scenes. Jackson’s current job, gathering proof of an unfaithful husband for his suspicious wife, seems straightforward, but a chance encounter with a desperate man on a crumbling cliff leads him into a sinister network - and back into the path of someone from his past.

I have read other Chris carter which I have enjoyed hence purchasing this one .
The story was not a story just overblown statements like from a very bad spoof , I was waiting for the very bad music . The characters sounded like wooded over acting actors. The women all two of them were portrayed idiots , or irrational blabbing , and one had to drugged!!
Even though they had strong stressful jobs . It was so misogynist

Brilliant, so well read , it made the emotion more real. The story was excellent, with the description of there actions was easily followed, and made it more suspense. The twist at the end was excellent, followed by the sad but true to life today , made it a really worth while read , a bit scary to life. Would make a great tv drama.
