Absolutely loved Rush and Rebel’s story, but the book was also a tie in to finish off the series.
We meet all the old characters, so well worth a reread to remember their stories or it can get complicated.
This book pure KA magic I started to read the Kindle version and couldn’t bare to put it down so bought Audible version to carry on .
Great Narration, I want to start this series again .
Definitely a keeper.

It began on New Year's Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world's population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magic rose up in its place. Some of it is good, like the witchcraft worked by Lana Bingham, practicing in the loft apartment she shares with her lover, Max.

Would you listen to Year One again? Why?

Definitely will listen again , my first Nora Roberts book great storyline didn’t want to stop listening.
Story is rather dark and sad in places, but all needed for the story.
Can’t wait for book 2

Who was your favorite character and why?

Lots of characters were great, to difficult to choose a favourite.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

I didn’t have a favourite scene, but there were loads of enjoyable parts.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Some very sad, heartbreaking parts which I don’t want to spoil for others, as well as some heartwarming moments.

Any additional comments?

An excellent Narrative book, kept me listening till the end and waiting eagerly for book 2.

I ended up skipping a lot of the story, as couldn’t listen anymore.

For most, a plane crash means the end of life. For Dusti Dawson, it's just the beginning...Dusti and her sister Batina survived the crash, thanks to a couple of brothers who are equal parts menacing and muscled. She'd be grateful...if they hadn't turned out to be delusional kidnappers, who believe Dusti's grandfather is some monstrous halfbreed creature bent on murder. Turns out Vampires, Lycans, and Gargoyles do exist - and they've been crossbreeding to form two hybrid races.
