I only heard of John Joseph a few weeks ago on the London Real you tube channel. I watched the documentary iron mind and was intrigued by this character. I'm not really into punk music so did not buy it for that reason but John is the singer for punk band the Cro-mags.
All I can say is WOW. What a life, what a story and what a turn around against all odds.
John's start was a harsh one and it toughened him up and made him a streetwise kid in New York. He has been through drug abuse, the punk scene, and been an awol navy man. It's full of sordid thing's like sex, drugs, criminal activity including theft and violence and murder, but also very entertaining and somewhat humorous at times I the way John tells it. Then it talks about John as an iron man competitor and a vegan and hari krishna member.
If you like good biographies then I highly recommend this book. Its over 16 hours long and I was disappointed when it came to an end because it kept me enthralled.
I don't write many reviews here even though I have over 450 books and have been a member since 2012 so that should tell you something in itself, so enough reading reviews, it is worth your credit, so just bit it already!

Have you ever wondered why some people just seem to keep winning in life while others seem to be on downward spirals? People who reach the great heights of success all have one thing in common: They understand how to use one powerful law of the universe. With the knowledge found in this book, I was able to create a life that most people consider a fairy tale.

This is a very inspiring listen from a great man with a remarkable spirit. It has everything from sadness to belly laughs and incredible adventures for someone so 'disabled'.

From his very sad start both in the book and his life Nick tells the story of how with the love and nurture he got from his parents he learned to do things that looking at him he should not be able to do. The most amazing of which is to be happily living a very fulfilling life.

Nick does a great job narrating his story and his spirit really shines through. With plenty of humor it's an engaging listen and leaves you feeling like if he can do what he has them maybe I can do better with the cats I've been dealt.

There are more books from Nick available and I would like to listen to more from him. Well done nick!

For the '70s child, summer holidays didn't mean the joy of CentreParcs or the sophistication of a Tuscan villa. They meant being crammed into a car with Grandma and heading to the coast. With just a tent for a home and a bucket for the necessities, we would set off on new adventures each year stoically resolving to enjoy ourselves. For Emma Kennedy, and her mum and dad, disaster always came along for the ride no matter where they went.

A great book describing all the hilarious misadventures of the Kennedy family in the 70's. The book is laugh out loud funny and I'm sure it's better to have the author read the book to really do it justice and have an authentic feel to it. How that poor family had to endure one disastrous holiday after another in Britain and France. But if it wasn't for that we would not have such an entertaining romp to jolt or funny bones. I am liking forward to listening to her other audio books

A good book which should really make you mad at the world we live in, with the day to day corruption and collusion going on.

our democracy is merely a myth. what we need is revolution whereby those at the top, the established ones, come tumbling down and then we need to totally chance the way in with this country is governed.
