can people please stop complaining about the timeline being confusing? It was very clearly colored differently in the past. The film was very well done in all technically aspects, plus some very fine acting and lines that land very powerfully. The overall story is compelling and well paced, with a strong willed heroine to boot.

This is an account of shattering experiences. It's just the life of a first-line soldier and then officer in one of the bloodiest and less known battles on the eastern front. was there, jumping out of the trench and running towards fortified German positions. The terrible casualties, the desertions, the awful sacrifices that Soviet generals required from their soldiers: it is all there, listen and remembered.
