As always with Simon’s work, this interview is brimming with detail and energy, just like his writing. Thoroughly recommended.

I enjoyed the story even tho I wanted to tell Nick to stop falling for the scam. Clinical, cold, crazy Russian winter with everything done to excess. Authentic feel, felt like I was in Moscow. Great reading added to the overall atmosphere.

Great interview with a great writer. I will now read Magpie Murders as the plot sounds original and fantastic. Thoroughly enjoyed this interview and I plan to read more of AH.

I would thoroughly recommend these stories to all PGW fans. Less well known than young Bertie’s, The Angler’s Rest customers, Mrs. P and Mr. M are equally as funny. More PGW genius and perfectly dramatised.

I have just completed the audiobook and realising there are many extracts missing compared to the book, will now buy it in hardback. A harmless, enjoyable, funny and cozy read — I thoroughly recommend it.

Who else could do justice to the best English novelist of all time, but Simon Callow. He brings the magic of Dickens' to life. For any lover of the great man's work, characters and performances, this is truly fan-tastic.

This dramatisation is excellent and really brings the story to life. Briers is the best Bertie there is. Splendid.
