This adventure story, is fast moving and extremely enjoyable. Mark Elstob did a fantastic job in narration, but of course we have to thank Hammond for his research and dedication for writing a fantastic story that can still be enjoyed by todays youngsters that love a good adventure novel. Thank you Hammond, and may you continue to write a good story for those in heaven with you.

Whilst this was a great story, it was not as spell binding as her other books. Too mush time was spent on the caves, I realise that this book was supposed to be about the caves, but too much time was spent describing them, also the repeat of the Mothers Song got a bit boring.

Whilst this was good book bring Ayla into the Zelandonia, I feel there is more to be told. I appreciate that each book has taken some each to write. But a more satisfactory conclusion to Ayla's story needs to be told.

A separate book written by another person (called Chapter 7), is well worth a read, but I hope that Jean will write another concluding book.

Would you consider the audio edition of Barefoot in Lace to be better than the print version?

In this case the printed version of the book was far better than the audio version

Who was your favorite character and why?

All the characters were equally favoured, which is the sign of good penmanship

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator speaks way too fast, as if she is on an express train, and can't wait to finish the story, it diminishes the romance of the story. Roxanne St Clare is a great author but this audio has been spoilt by the narrator.

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No
