Seems to jar on the overall Star Wars mythos

Premise of the story introducing Anakin and how he interacts with the force as the chosen one is a bit to much. To overpowered. The main planet in the second half of the story again doesn’t feel right for the universe.
Performed brilliantly given the story itself.

Good story tying in the various threads of Dooku and how he came to be.
Didn’t enjoy the way it was seen thru his padawan but the actual dooku plot line was good and worth a listen for any fan.

Think Hunger Games meets Game of Thrones. Brilliantly woven tale. Performance makes you feel for the characters as much as the written word. Highly recommend

A great conclusion to the current run. I hope in time Cornwell finds his way back to add another title.

Brilliantly told story, expanding in the Characters in surprising ways but entirely natural evolution of the tale. Battle scenes portrayed in a way that allows suspense and imagery that propels the story further. Wonderfully performed and found with each book Cullum has found his portrayal on the characters solidifying.

Love the character depth and continuing build on each of them. Cornwell writes in a way that focuses on the characters but still brings in such a beautiful view of the history of the battles and the political landscape surrounding the time. Beautifully read and performed as well.

Love Cornwells literary work. Read these many years ago and to hear them again was a joy. The story itself winds through the start of the war in unexpected ways but the third act is wonderfully written and drops you into the action.
Cullums performance is great although his staccato pronunciation of some sections isn’t for everyone. Very much enjoyed though!

Funny and dark, heartfelt and heartbreaking.

I am so very glad this wonderful man kept his humour through everything.

Brilliant listen. Thoroughly enjoyed the way this told and untold story but wrapped in other non-canon prequel novels and Episode 1 with fluid story-telling and a brilliant insight into the real dark side.
Some chapters drift on with over descriptive takes, and the performance suffers in these sections of the book, but overall the music and sound effect work adds another layer and brings this up to 5 stars!
