Very well written, witty and bringing to mind my family set up. All the characters are characters mirth and misunderstandings abound.
I would recommend this to family and friends alike. Non friends I’d say it was rubbish 😉

You have to like Milton Jones in all his wackiness. Although well thought out I would say that this grates after a time, the length is down to the individual listener.

Stephen Fry brings all of Doyle’s characters to life, with his range of accents and tones, I could see them all in my minds eye.
Of course this was made possible by the brilliant writing of Doyle who describes them so well that they come to life with every word.
There are long and short mysteries for everyone to take to in in today’s hustle and bustle of every day life.

I liked the tv series so thought this would be the same.
Wrong.
The narrator has a monotone voice so all the participants sounded as Sean Connery or Micheal Cane were narrating.
May be just me, I found the whole of part 1 hard to follow, so the rest will not get a listen or mention.

I like David Mitchell, however, I found his inane ranting to be a touch to much. 30 minutes of listening was enough. He left my head buzzing. Not for me thank you.

Brilliant, well written and acted. The Hull accent lends itself to comedy.
I’ve listened to it three times, the humour is very cleverly written with a few surprising endings
