Something dark and evil has awakened.... Evie O'Neill has been exiled from her boring old hometown and shipped off to the bustling streets of New York City - and she is pos-i-tute-ly ecstatic. It's 1926, and New York is filled with speakeasies, Ziegfeld girls, and rakish pickpockets. The only catch is that she has to live with her uncle Will and his unhealthy obsession with the occult. Evie worries her uncle will discover her darkest secret: a supernatural power that has only brought her trouble so far.

It took me a little longer to finish this than usual as I could only read it in the day time; the narrator did a wonderful job of keeping up the creepy atmosphere. It felt so real.

When Rini lands with a literal splash in the pond behind Eleanor West's Home for Wayward Children, the last thing she expects to find is that her mother, Sumi, died years before Rini was even conceived. But Rini can't let Reality get in the way of her quest - not when she has an entire world to save! (Much more common than one would suppose.) If she can't find a way to restore her mother, Rini will have more than a world to save: She will never have been born in the first place.

Wonderful as usual. The only negative thing I have to say about this series is that it is so short! I have never wanted more from a series than I have this!

This book! This book was utterly amazing! The twist and turns that took place, the questions, the answers all wrapped up in a perfect puzzle just waiting to come together!

It was more than I expected and I devoured this in two days unable to stop listening (on audible).

The story itself beautiful yet littered with the harsh reality of this world! I need book 3 right now!

I had been avoiding this story simply due to the hype surrounding it. I was wrong to have waited this long.

This story sucked me in from the beginning and I simply devoured it! The audiobook brought everything to life - I didn't miss a detail and loved the writing.

I would recommend to all eho enjoy a good fantastical/paranormal aspect to real life.
