More, so much more than I expected.

I expected a book which would give an insight into Nike’s success, would detail how they’d become so successful and a few tips on how to make it as an entrepreneur.

This I got.

I expected a few stories about famous athletes who Phil Knight had spent time with over the years, with a funny story or two.

This I got, in spades.

I did not expect such an insightful reflection, such a humble and honest account or such a sentimental look back over a full life.

I did not expect to become so invested in these individuals and their fates.

I did not expect to be astounded by the insightful, concise observations on everything from Japanese culture to weather to business.

A highly recommended read for anyone with an interest in sports, business, purpose or the human condition.
