Michael McIntyre is as funny as usual in this audio recording of his show. Although you are unable to see his actions and expressions to what he is talking about in your mind. A true comic. I would recommend this recording if you are a fan of Michael McIntyre, but those who don't know his style of comedy might not get the same level of satisfaction because they haven't experienced the visual aspect of his performance.

Lee Evans is one of the best-loved comedians in the country; a Hollywood star able to sell out arenas in the blink of eye. But he was not always such a roaring success. Read unabridged by the man himself, the audiobook edition of The Life of Lee is an utterly hilarious and very moving autobiography, charting his ups and downs on the way to the top.

What disappointed you about The Life of Lee?

Although it was a good portrayal of Lee's life, I found it dragged on and I expected more of the "funny man" aspect of this brilliant comedian and not just the monotony of this, at times, depressing rendition. Also, although he swears in his stage performances, I felt the language of the book was such, that my husband asked me to refrain from playing it out load when he was around. The truth is that I gave up on this audio version three quarters of the way through and would have asked for a refund, but I was out of the time limit. Disappointing.

Has The Life of Lee put you off other books in this genre?

A little. I will scrutinise the books before purchasing them in future.

What does Lee Evans bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you had only read the book?

It is good to hear the voice of the author, it makes the performance complete, instead of just reading words.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

I felt rather low whilst listening, both in disappointment of the book content and of the early life of Lee.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Totally recommend this audio version of Micheal McIntyre's latest show. Laughed so much and although it was just the audio version, you can still imagine the actions and reactions of his stage performance. One funny guy!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Obviously Micheal is the only one in the show, but he is a comic genius in every sense.

Have you listened to any of Michael McIntyre’s other performances? How does this one compare?

No I haven't, but I can't wait to listen to another one now.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

The laughs start here!

Ever since he became a Christian at the age of forty, it has been Poirot actor David Suchet's dream to make an audio recording of the whole Bible. In between filming the final episodes of Poirot, David Suchet spent over 200 hours in the recording studio to create the very first full-length audio version of the NIV Bible spoken by a single British actor. Volume 2 of the NIV Audio Bible includes the Prophets, Gospels, Acts and Letters, covering the books of Isaiah to Revelation.

David Suchet narrates the Bible in such an inspiring and engaging manner. His voice leads you into the words so that you really want to listen to the message of the Bible. I even could engage with Revelations in a new way!
