What did you like most about Blotto, Twinks and the Bootlegger's Moll?

I love the Blotto & Twinks books. Simon Brett is a wonder at wit ! Very enjoyable. Blotto is like Inspector Clouseau, he gets results without even realizing what he's doing!! Love it !!! The whole series is great !

What about Simon Brett’s performance did you like?

It's especially good to hear the actual author of the book reading it, makes it seem more 'real'.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Love all the funny lines!

Rachel catches the same commuter train every morning. She knows it will wait at the same signal each time, overlooking a row of back gardens. She's even started to feel like she knows the people who live in one of the houses. Jess and Jason, she calls them. Their life - as she sees it - is perfect. If only Rachel could be that happy. And then she sees something shocking. It's only a minute until the train moves on, but it's enough. Now everything's changed.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

I read all the hype about this book and other readers seemed to enjoy it, but sorry, I didn't. I found it so drawn out and took ages to get to the point, thought it was boring, lacking in the 'thrill' factor.

What could Paula Hawkins have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Nothing

What three words best describe the narrators’s performance?

Narrators were good.

Any additional comments?

Won't be reading her books again.

It's the end of the roaring twenties, and the exuberant and Honourable Phryne Fisher is dancing and gaming with gay abandon. But she becomes bored with London and the endless round of parties. In search of excitement, she sets her sights on a spot of detective work in Melbourne, Australia. And so mystery and the beautiful Russian dancer, Sasha de Lisse, appear in her life. From then on it's all cocaine and communism until her adventure reaches its steamy end in the Turkish baths of Little Lonsdale Street.

If this book wasn’t for you, who do you think might enjoy it more?

I didn't really enjoy this book. Story was a bit dull and the narrator spoke like a darlek although she was good at different voices, but general narration was awful.

What could Kerry Greenwood have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

More action!

Who might you have cast as narrator instead of Stephanie Daniel?

Diana Rigg

Any additional comments?

I don't think I'll be listening to this series again, far too dull.
