It's basically the same text (positive affirmations) read in each chapter over a different background noise (beach, rain, birds and so on). I like to listen to it while I am starting my day.

In the beginning there is some brief and general guidance to relaxation, the rest is just music. Expected something different.

In the summer of 1914 most of Europe plunged into a war so catastrophic that it unhinged the continent's politics and beliefs in a way that took generations to recover from. The disaster terrified its survivors, shocked that a civilization that had blandly assumed itself to be a model for the rest of the world had collapsed into a chaotic savagery beyond any comparison.

It's a good book but very difficult to follow, as the author simply states facts one after another and jumps from one topic to the next. I reduced the reading speed to 0,9x and even then, if I got distracted for 30 seconds, I already lost the thread of the story.
May be better understood by someone already familiar with the subject, but for someone who has last taken history in school 25 years ago it's quite a bite to chew through.

To the children, the town was their whole world. To the adults, knowing better, Derry, Maine, was just their hometown: familiar, well ordered for the most part. A good place to live. It was the children who saw - and felt - what made Derry so horribly different. In the storm drains, in the sewers, IT lurked, taking on the shape of every nightmare, each one's deepest dread. Sometimes IT reached up, seizing, tearing, killing....

King is definitely the King of horror! Tje ending is maybe a bit weak but the story is exquisitely scary. And the narration is awesome. Strongly recommended.

In this audiobook, the author of Seven Gothic Tales gives a true account of her life on her plantation in Kenya. She tells with classic simplicity of the ways of the country and the natives; of the beauty of the Ngong Hills and coffee trees in blossom; of her guests, from the Prince of Wales to Knudsen, the old charcoal burner, who visited her; of primitive festivals; of big game that were her near neighbors - lions, rhinos, elephants, zebras, buffaloes; and of Lulu, the little gazelle who came to live with her, unbelievably ladylike and beautiful.

It took me a while to find the unabridged audio edition for this book. I love the story and have read it time and again. Unfortunately the narrator took all the pleasure out of this one, for me at least. She speaks way too fast and her voice remains flat all the while. The real pleasure of reading Karen Blixen is not only in the stories but mostly in her writing style and descriptions of things and people. She needs to be savored like a good, expensive wine. In this narrattive she gets chugged down like cheap beer.
