People aren't sure what to make of Susan Green - family and colleagues find her prickly and hard to understand, but Susan makes perfect sense to herself, and that's all she needs. At 45, she thinks her life is perfect, as long as she avoids her feckless brother, Edward - a safe distance away in Birmingham. Yet suddenly faced with the loss of her mother and, implausibly, with the possibility of becoming a mother herself, Susan's greatest fear is being realised: she is losing control.

I completely love this book. The story is wonderful: sad, happy, frustrating, surprising and poignant. The narrator couldn’t have been better - great accents, believable monologues and conversations, perfect speed and emotion. If you look at the title and think it’s about a plant, you won’t be wrong, but read it - it’s an absolute joy <3

Indulge in this lovely, cake-filled novel of romance and friendship. Christmas Cakes and Mistletoe Nights is Carole Matthews at her heart-warming best! Fay and Danny are madly in love, and it's all Fay's ever dreamed of. But she left everything - including the delightful cake shop she used to run - to be with Danny on his cosy canal boat, The Dreamcatcher. And as she soon finds out, making delicious cakes on the water isn't always smooth sailing!

What a lovely, gentle story for Christmas.
I thoroughly enjoyed it and found myself anticipating ‘it’s my favourite’ and saying it out loud, which made me smile!

Fay Merryweather runs her cake shop from her beautiful garden. She whips up airy sponges and scrumptious scones while her customers enjoy the lovely blossoms and gorgeous blooms. Looking after the cake shop, the garden, and her cantankerous mother means Fay is always busy, but she accepts her responsibilities because if she doesn't do all this, who will? Then Danny Wilde walks into her life and makes Fay question every decision she's ever made.

I tried a new author suggested by audible and I am so pleased that I did!
What a great book!
The story was dark and believable. It was sexually graphic in places (so not one to listen to out loud, unless you’re on your own or your companions don’t mind - my dog didn’t)
Lots of humour alleviated some of the truly awful descriptions, although I did find myself gasping and commenting out loud in places.
The gold star, however, must go to the narrator - totally and completely brilliant!
I’m off now to look for more books by this pair 😊

Minimalism is the thing that gets us past the things that clutter our lives so we can make room for life's most important things - which actually aren't things at all. At age 30, best friends Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus walked away from their six-figure corporate careers, jettisoned most of their material possessions, and started focusing on what's truly important.

I struggled with this book and only made it to the 3td chapter
I'm sure the content is great, but the narrator (one of the authors) has a flat monotone reading voice and speaks very quickly
This not only irritated me, it ultimately prevented me from listening further than the 3rd chapter.
I have returned this book

Rarely have I listened to a better book than this. The characters are completely believable, the narration is perfect and the story funny and heartbreaking at once. I laughed out loud in parts and completely fell apart in others.
I stayed up until 3 o'clock in the morning listening, as I couldn't sleep until I'd heard the end of one section of the story.

This book was an absolute winner for me.
The story and the performance are both fabulous, the characters entirely believable and the pace just right. The poetry contained within the book is good, and, although not necessarily to my taste, integral to the tale.
The only thing I don't like is that I don't know what happens next!
