My Memory Lane

When I listened to The Night Before Christmas,it took me down memory lane which is some 55 years plus. It brought back the excitment of Christmas Eve. Each family in some way does something that is passed on to you & even your own children. Things then where not emptying your bank a/c or maxing out your credit card. It used to be alot easier toys used to be made by Santa & his helpers & you still probably ate to much on the Day itself. We really enjoyed this lovely present from Audible & we can now play it to our Grandchildren, who will amazed. Many thanks Audible & A Happy Christmas to you all

The Hostage. Police officer Helen Weeks walks into her local newsagent's on her way to work. Little does she know that this simple daily ritual will change her life forever. It's the last place she expects to be met with violence, but as she waits innocently at the till, she comes face to face with a gunman. The Demand. The crazed hostage-taker is desperate to know what really happened to his beloved son, who died a year before in youth custody.

This gripping story includes murder, hostage taking & yet another murder well told by the author Mark Billingham, complete with excellent accent changes. It just flows along from chapter to chapter that I could not stop listening, I finished this book in just 3 sittings. Can't wait for Mark's next book.
