Random House presents the audiobook edition of From a Low and Quiet Sea by Donal Ryan, read by Stephen Hogan, Gerry O'Brien and Ramon Tikaram. Farouk’s country has been torn apart by war. Lampy’s heart has been laid waste by Chloe. John’s past torments him as he nears his end. The refugee. The dreamer. The penitent. From war-torn Syria to small-town Ireland, three men, scarred by all they have loved and lost, are searching for some version of home. Each is drawn towards a powerful reckoning, one that will bring them together in the most unexpected of ways.

I had seen this recommended and really got hooked at the beginning but got a bit lost along the way. I think I might have fallen asleep and missed a bit as I seemed to get a bit lost part way through! Interesting final part.

In her memoir, a work of deep reflection and mesmerizing storytelling, Michelle Obama invites listeners into her world, chronicling the experiences that have shaped her - from her childhood on the South Side of Chicago to her years as an executive balancing the demands of motherhood and work to her time spent at the world's most famous address. With unerring honesty and lively wit, she describes her triumphs and her disappointments, both public and private, telling her full story as she has lived it - in her own words and on her own terms.

Better on audio than probably reading the book! I dont know if she had help writing this but it was very well written, When she describes sitting by the water with hubby you can see, hear, smell the scene. When she tries to escape the white house with her daughter to watch a light show you can feel her frustration. OK I am biased because I am a fan but it was amazing to learn they both came from such "normal" backgrounds eg their families made sacrifices to afford them a good education, her dad had MS (like me), the president had previously driven a car that had holes in it just like many peoples first car! A very uplifting book.

The story was quite good and easy to listen to. Slightly unbelievable but pleasent to read and sufficiently interesting to keep me reading to the end. Nicely read and I could easily imagine the scenes.

Comedian and broadcaster Susan Calman danced her way across our screens and into our hearts for 10 weeks on Strictly Come Dancing 2017, but how did this ability to find joy change her life? Susan Calman's enthusiasm at being on Strictly Come Dancing was an inspiration to all of us. Cheer Up Love, Susan's first book, had a clear aim: to help people understand depression. Sunny Side Up has a similarly clear path: to persuade people to be kinder to each other and spread more joy.

Such a joy to listen to. Did not know much about the author and it was quite an impulse purchase so the book was a lovely surprise. Cheery anecdotes that are perfect for cheering up a cold winter day, Could not wait to read each chapter,
