I really enjoyed the story here, a nice twist on the usual vampire story but the narrators voice was very monotonous and her characters were a bit stale at times. Also you know those snappy one liners.authors put another end of a chapter....they were delivered almost an an afterthought....not sure whether to listen based on narrator might get the paper book instead tho as I'm intrigued to see where Amber goes next.

Now this might have spoilers be warned.

I love this series Jane is cool and has a skillset to be really envious of but really what did she expect working with vamps that she could get away with all her attitude and not have Leo do anything in return.? Also just get on bruiser already. Lol. I love how this author leaves you immediately wanting the next book! Please keep writing Jane and all the other characters for years to come!

well what can i say....i would not want the harlequin after me if they can mess with the most powerful of vamps....i liked this book because there was a proper story and although there was still a lot of feelings and sex it felt like it was leading somewhere. richard is seriously getting on my nerves now though....either accept what you are or leave and stop making everyone's life miserable.....i mean get a grip it's your own fault you're a lycanthrope anyway mate! sorry sidetracked there haha. all in all a great book and the narrator has got the voices almost exactly as i would imagine them. excellent.

I've always loved Jason and wondered about his story so I'm really pleased that ms hamilton had done this book. you learn a lot about him and Anita in this book, i do think though that her dance card is pretty full and I'm not sure she can handle any more men in her life. the only thing i find wierd is that richard is the only man who's jealous....i mean seriously surely one or more would think hang on a minute she lives with micah and Nathaniel and stays with jean-claude mostly so the others don't get a look in!! either way I'm still keen to see where she ends up next and what happens with the mother of all darkness.... now there's a name you wouldn't want to hear calling you haha!

I loved this book but i was really hoping for something to move on with Kate and Curran.....the writing was set at a good pace kept going without many of the tedious backstory paragraphs that avid followers of the series will also find frustrating (this applies to most series not just this one though).

I thought the development of Derek's character was good and i'm looking forward to seeing where he goes from here and i also liked that Julie featured in this book and developed her character too. I thought the villans in this book were ingenious and they were so evil i wanted to get in the games and kick their butts myself for all their smarmy looks.

All in all can't wait for the next book!

Good if not a little annoying at times

I found this to be a good book although the parts where she goes back and forth thinking she's in a dream or that people are 'mad' or 'insane' get a little tedious because after being provided with irrefutable evidence of Vampyres she still insists on playing dumb. Aside from this the storyline is quite good and gives a nice peak into the other Argeneau family members which gives a good incentive to read the others in the series.

As much as i enjoyed this book i think i'd rather have read it myself as the woman's voice was a tad annoying most of the time and her fairy voice really grated at times. Anyone who has read these books will have already built up an image and impression of what they think the characters voices sound like, which is something to always bear in mind with audio books, but this woman didn't do it for me unfortunately. The story however tied up some loose ends and i think marked a good start to getting back to how Ms Hamilton used to write!

This was an excellent audio book the reader really got into the characters and worked hard to make you believe that these people were really in the situations and when their life was in peril you really felt it!! The book itself is brilliant and i have since downloaded the first book of the series to start from the beginning! There was some plot lines left unresolved so i'm hoping that the next one will feature a glimpse into what needed to be resolved otherwise it'll be a bit disappointing.
