Leading evangelist Billy Graham has written an inspiring and thought-provoking work based on his personal quest to understand the most mysterious and difficult aspect of the Trinity. After a discussion with a noted Swiss theologian, Dr. Graham began a study of the Bible to see what is said about the Holy Spirit. As he progressed through his examination, he became concerned by the “misunderstanding and even ignorance in some Christian circles concerning the Third Person of the Trinity.”

I have to say full marks for this book. I have some reservations but lack the experience to articulate it correctly. I do feel a change in some form or manor. Thinking that what I believed to be my own spirit, might be the holy spirit seems to have me want to take better care of myself. Interesting listen!

From the author of 12 Rules for Life: An Antidote to Chaos comes a provocative hypothesis that explores the connection between what modern neuropsychology tells us about the brain and what rituals, myths, and religious stories have long narrated. A cutting-edge work that brings together neuropsychology, cognitive science, and Freudian and Jungian approaches to mythology and narrative, Maps of Meaning presents a rich theory that makes the wisdom and meaning of myth accessible to the critical modern mind.

Perhaps no figure in biblical scholarship has been the subject of more controversy and debate than Mary Magdalene. Although she is discussed in the gospels of Philip, Thomas, Peter, and Bartholomew in the collection of writings known as the Gnostic gospels that were rejected by the early Christian church, there is no better insight into this mysterious and influential woman than Mary's own gospel.

Well done and thanks, this is what I was looking for, a different perspective. While language remains a challenge when bringing text forward in time, you have to appreciate the effort put into this peace. Not much is given to the ideas presented in this book in society today, however accurate I believe them to be. You will need some sort of an imagination before going into this one in my opinion. Be open and respectful to the information and patient with your own mind, any frustration will pass as cognative dissonance opens you up to a paradox in the mind, of course if you allow it. That's all I have to say on this. Enjoy

"While the history books are filled with tales of obsessive visionary geniuses who remade the world in their images with sheer, almost irrational force, I've found that history is also made by individuals who fought their egos at every turn, who eschewed the spotlight, and who put their higher goals above their desire for recognition." I can not fault what is said here. I feel it's only scratching the surface of the ego. the book can only show you how to manage the ego but not understand the ego. perhaps I have a different view of what the ego involves. ego is not my word for 'it' so nobody can be wrong. I feel this book covers the output of the ego if it is indeed an 'entity' as i feel it is indirectly defined in the book. I say, What is acheivable by one for the 'better', requires accomoadation from another. where there is competition, there is the ego weather aware of it or not. An ego must exist for a failing or distracting anti-ego to exist, but thats my own insight. Cheers Ryan for the efforts, much appreciated.

God Is Disappointed in You is for people who would like to read the Bible...if it would just cut to the chase. Stripped of its arcane language and interminable passages, every book of the Bible is condensed down to its core message, in no more than a few pages each. Written by Mark Russell with cartoons by New Yorker cartoonist Shannon Wheeler, God Is Disappointed in You is a frequently hilarious, often shocking, but always accurate retelling of the Bible, including the parts selectively left out by Sunday School teachers.
