I haven’t read the prequel to this story, but i did catch up nicely. When the story started it was like I dived into the deep end and was drowning fast, so much info dump in the beginning. I would loved the pace to be set a hair different, but it did even out a bit or maybe I just got used to it. I’ve never read anything from this author before. I’m not sure the book was the right book for me, or maybe the right book at this time. It didn’t suck me in and come to life off the pages. It was no way a terrible or bad read, I think it’s just not the style for me. The male narration was good, the female fell flat in this one. But I think it has to do with connection to the characters and story line. It just wasn’t there for me. It may be just what your looking for though, so give it a listen.

I loved it, it’s not your typical romance. She’s older, he’s younger, but they both have a past that could lead them to get hurt. I think the writer told the story beautifully without it being like she creeped on a younger man. Love is love. This is the first I have read from this author and narrator. They both blew my socks off. The narration was spot on! I can’t say how much I really enjoyed this listen. And the epilogue was so fitting. Awesome book.

This is the second I’ve read of this author and narrator. I’ve enjoyed both books. The flow of narration and story line was easy to listen to. Even though the relationship started out on a bed of lies, and still continued to weave lies, I was happy when everything came out in the open. I’m not overtly fond of lies and hidden truths between couples. I do gotta say I think the blurb revealed too much plot. The story ends on a happy for now, which fits nicely.

A nice continuation of the series. Book one left the duchess heart broken and I think a little lost. I was really glad she came into herself more in this book. For a adult she has a childlike wonder about her, while being loyal and jaded at the same time. She’s a complex one. I could predict somethings, but it didn’t take away anything from the story. The narration was good except for one thing, the male voices. They didn’t sound anything like I’d pictured in my head. To me they sounded slurry, almost as if ones trying to go for a drunk male voice. I’m really glad this couple found their HEA.

This is the second story I have listen to by Tessa Bowen. I enjoyed this one way more. I think I just didn’t mesh well with the characters from the other book, the writing however was great with both books. But Izzy and Trev. I heart them. It’s a opposite attracts story. I was sucked in from page one. Iz’s over use of friggen and some other slangs didn’t really bother me, as she is portrayed as innocent and young. Her character was written correctly for her age, but I loved how she grew through this book, and her effect on the Duke. The duke, who thinks he is beyond anything real and wholesome, makes so many mistakes but learns from them in such a good way. The narration was really good, and the intonation for each character is what I would think they should sound like. The only thing is wished for, was the break up scene with the baroness, and Isabel’s restart in New York. And omg, a few scenes had me snorting! Accusing him of not being able to get it up! Dies! I love their banter.

It was a solid four stars. I did think it was over the top with the chanting of Tobias Langford, to the point I really think she needs pharmaceuticals. Tobias was a a$$hat for a good part of the book, but did get somewhat better. I just couldn’t see what Lina saw in him when he was younger. I couldnt connect with these characters. The writing style was good, characters didn’t seem to develop much though. The narration was ok, kinda how I expect them to sound, even if Tobias’s character sounded off. Overall a good read. This is the first I have read from this author, and will be looking forward to more books from her.

She's not a quiet librarian. My landlord is infuriating. He's uptight and rigid, right down to those dress shirts that do nothing to hide the muscle underneath. Sure, I never read the tenant's agreement. I have now. In fact, I've memorized it and I'm going to use it to my advantage while staying within the bounds of my contract. Is it my fault that those little decorative touches drive Charlie nuts? And who can resist purchasing a few vulgar gnomes to enhance the landscape?

While I really liked the story it was very predictable but still a enjoyable read. The narrator was easy to listen to even if she was bordering whiny at times. Not to her fault I think it was just the characters. Not as funny as I was expecting. The epilogue was sweet, but I got to say there’s no way I’d wait until 4 minutes apart. No way, and for him to be high handed and try to keep the epi away, there’d be bloodshed. So overall good but was hoping for awesomely funny.

And to find one that does it so well, it can’t say how much I loved this one. The writing was so real and was so smooth. The narrator was perfect for this book. She executed everything flawlessly. I’m in awe right now. This combo of writer and narrator just works. I’m going to looking for more to listen to with this duo. Get this, make sure to have tissues ready, you won’t be disappointed.
