It’s a thoroughly addictive and entertaining book. You start seeing people and your own interactions in a different light and have multiple out of body experience for the next few weeks

Really helpful if you find that you manage to destroy relationships in moments without trying too hard and often beat yourself about it or the other way around

My only regret is not reading this 20 years ago. So I have given a copy to all my nieces and nephews.

Bryony Gordon was not a runner. A loafer, a dawdler, a drinker, a smoker, yes. A runner, no. Yet somehow, as she began to recover from the emotional roller coaster of laying her life bare in her mental health memoir Mad Girl, she started to realise that getting outside, moving her body and talking to others for whom life was also an occasional challenge might actually help her.

Oh! How I laughed all the way during my runs listening to this . An amazing story that is well told and enjoyable

If you are bored of listening to all the self help , business and really clever podcasts and just want a friendly and hilarious conversation the this is it

Can’t wait to hear other books from this writer but only after she’s smoked her lungs out on the way

You probably hate giving presentations; you probably hate listening to them too. Why? Because most business presentations are too long, too detailed, too boring, and submerged under a blizzard of PowerPoint. But the single most important presentational tool known to man isn't a slideshow; it's you. Whether you're speaking to one person across a table, 20 people in a boardroom or 1,000 people in a ballroom, it's all about the words you say and how you say them.

I recently re heard the book to refresh a presentation I was regurgitating for a different audience and conference focus

Glad that I did! And changed the story to bring an angle and story that was in my head but couldn’t articulate clearly previously

Feedback from the organisers was ‘ voted the best presentation for the entire event’ and I could see the engagement right to the end and after

It did take me 3 reads to reprogram my head though

In The Formula, Barabási highlights the vital importance of community respect and appreciation when connecting performance to recognition - the elusive link between performance and success. By leveraging the power of big data and historic case studies, Barabási reveals the unspoken rules behind who truly gets ahead and why and outlines the 12 laws that govern this phenomenon and how we can use them to our own advantage.

An interesting take on barriers to success in the worldly sense and how to make the best in a wildly competitive market

I agree with most of the 5 principles albeit need to experiment and follow up on the suggested themes
