It's a gorgeous autumn day in Georgetown. The Democratic candidates for president and vice-president of the United States are dutifully glad-handing voters and the media outside a grand estate where a national-security conference has just been held, bringing together the world's greatest minds to discuss the issues that are threatening the country. It's American politicking at its best. That's when all hell breaks loose.

Most remarkable how one can actually really like a Pathological Killer!
George Guidall is a very good narrater, it's his reading of the story that keeps one gripped to the end as much as the story itself.

This is the second of DCI Daily novels I've listened to and I've enjoyed both very much
If I have one reservation is that the violence is a tough too descriptive!
Other than that I would defiantly recommend the novels.
I shall be purchasing book 2 straight away.
The narration really adds to the enjoyment, hope the same guy continues for the series.

What did you like most about Dark Suits and Sad Songs?

Good story and set on the West Coast of Scotland. What's not to like, my wife's from the West Coast!
The violence could get a wee bit too graphic but it didn't really turn me off the book.
Will look at his other books and probably try another.

What did you like best about this story?

Setting and charactors

Which character – as performed by David Monteath – was your favourite?

The lead.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No I never do. I listen to audible books to send me to sleep, so can take some time to complete them!!

Set during England's bloody and brutal War of the Roses, this is the second novel in an epic historical fiction series. If you liked Conn Iggulden's Stormbird, you will love Toby Clements' Kingmaker novels. October 1463. England is a divided nation. In the north the Lancastrian king struggles to hold power while in the south the princes of the house of York prepare for war.
