I wanted to enjoy this.

I half did, but, it took so much work to decipher who was talking when as the POV was constantly changing - something I hate. Pick one and stick to it for a while and then when it changes make it obvious, like a new chapter.

The narrator was clunky.

The whole thing was quite jarring and I won’t be bothering with further audiobooks from this series or anything from this author at all.

What made the experience of listening to Absolution the most enjoyable?

I'd already read the book but when I saw that this was available on audio I couldn't resist. I'd really enjoyed the book, but as an audio addict I knew I'd enjoy having it narrated to me as I commute to and from work.

Having the characters brought to life by audio doubled my enjoyment of what is already a wonderful story.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the characters - they're all messed up in their own way but together they make sense.

Which character – as performed by Joel Leslie – was your favourite?

Mace. Oh God, that voice sent shivers through me. So perfect.

I've searched out and purchased another audio by him I loved his performance that much. The only other narrator I did that for was Sean Crisden and that opened up a load of doors to author's I'd not read before so I hope this does the same!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I wish that I could - no time for that sort of luxury - but I found I couldn't wait for my next trip in the car so I could listen for 45 minutes or so.

Any additional comments?

Nana has to be most annoying character ever written. I won't be bothering with more from this series as I can't bear it. She's just bed filler.

It's a shame because the story wasn't bed otherwise.

Awful narration ruined what may be a decent story

I listened to this until the end as the original Jane Austen novel is one all my all time favourites and I love an m/m romance.

This version left me cold. There appeared to be no chemistry whatsoever between Liam and Will. I put this down the the delivery. The narrator was awful. If you can't do accents please don't try, I would rather just have the book read straight You made all the characters - the non American ones anyway - sound like utter idiots. No British person talks like any of the characters in this audio book! Not even close. All the female characters sounded like they were Monty Python women's voices.

The pronunciation of Derbyshire and Rosings offended me!

I wish I'd read the Kindle version as I can't see Dreamspinner putting out something as bad as this became as an audio book. It has put me off trying this author again.

I'll keep this short.

I loved every word of this book (apart from the British having poor hygiene, RUDE!!) and have yet to listen to an audiobook that has both traumatised, amused and turned me on in equal measures.

Nick J Russo's narration is perfection, he should narrate every book ever.

Brilliant.

Flawed, but I loved it anyway

When I read a rec for this book I couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I loved the premise of the bad guy and the cop. I wasn't disappointed despite some things grating on me.

I loved the dynamic between the two, the hot sex, how much they loved one another and the backdrop for the story. Some of the side characters were great, Pablo, Kane and Angelo's mother. (I've happily downloaded Pablo and Kane's own stories ready to go.)

Make no mistake, this book is both HOT HOT HOT and it doesn't sugar coat the violence and who Angelo really is. That is a very readable/listenable combination.

Renard Pasquale is the perfect narrator too, the way he does the accents is just right - although Syren's accent is plain weird.

(Spoilers below)
What I didn't like about it was the speed in which it went from first sight to love. I like a bit of build up. Gabe barely blinked before jumping into bed with Angelo the criminal and as a dedicated cop surely there would've at least *some* angst about it first, or at least after they first got it on, but no, it was straight to LOVE. Then Gabe goes bonkers about something that Angelo does, breaks it off, then five minutes later he's being all moody that Angelo made a decision without him when they weren't even together. He wasn't very consistent!

Since listening to the Dark Horse series I've become addicted to Kate Sherwood and this story is just the right mix of angst and plot. She really make me care about the characters. I also think I'd like to visit Vancouver!

Unfortunately the narrator is pretty awful. His voice is monotone, it was difficult at times to suss who was supposed to be talking and I think I could've done better reading it out loud straight up in my Brummy English accent. I'll endeavour to avoid this narrator in future.

I have been living and breathing this book for the last week and it's been a fantastic ride. I've laughed, cried and pictured all three guys naked so I think I got value for money.

The narrator was perfect.

I'm so excited there are more in this series. If it were up to me I'd be making a tv series from it. Imagine that.

I still can't cope with the narrator

I will never listen to something narrated by Shannon Gunn again. It's embarrassingly bad.

It's a shame because the story is hot.

This story is super hot and really hits the spot.

The only fly in the ointment is the narrator. Narrator, Shannon Gunn, must also be movie trailer voice over guy as well because he has just the voice for it. It was way too over the top for this kind of job.

Also, the way he voices Tate is hilarious and as sexy as my big toe.

I'll listen to the sequel as I want to know what happens but I won't order any more books narrated by the same person. I can't go through it again!
